The WordPress Hosting “Unlimited” plan doesn’t contractually place a limit on the number of websites, databases, or email mailboxes, or the amount of webspace you can use.
Like all hosting providers, we are also subject to physical limitations when providing hosting services, especially when it comes to shared hosting. In our experience, however, the vast majority of customers don’t come anywhere close to these limits. For the occasional customer with relatively extreme resource requirements, it may be worth considering an upgrade – e.g. to a dedicated managed server.
Unlimited websites means unlimited websites. We do not limit the number of websites you can host in your contract. For customers who operate several websites with low visitor numbers, this is a perfect solution. However, due to the nature of shared hosting, excessive use of shared resources (e.g. PHP memory limit) between multiple websites may worsen the performance of all web projects within a package. If there is a loss of performance or bottlenecks regarding memory or databases, you may need to switch to a higher package such as a managed server.
All WordPress hosting plans, as well as all Linux web hosting packages, are limited to hosting at most 262,144 individual files on the server. This number is the platform’s technological limit and therefore ensures the best possible stability and performance for all customers. This limit, however, is rarely reached, even by those customers with several websites. It therefore does not limit the vast majority of customers.
Storage in the Unlimited plan is provided on demand. Customers initially have 100 gigabytes of SSD webspace. How much space is being used is checked daily, and the amount is automatically adjusted if necessary. If the amount of storage resources being used is too great, you may need to make an internal switch to a platform that is optimized for large webspaces. We will inform customers of this in good time.
Important: Unlimited storage is only valid for the webspace used to host the corresponding WordPress websites. Therefore, using backups as file storage/mass storage or for providing mass downloads, as well as excessive loads on the server (e.g. through CGI scripts) is not permitted.
